On May 21, School of Foreign Languages held an enlarged conference of the Party Committee and a study meeting of the Party Committee's theoretical center group. The members of the school's leadership team, Party branch secretary, department director, and office administrators participated in the collective study. Party Secretary Liu Yingsi presided over the meeting.

Liu Yingsi instructed the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech during his inspection tour of Tsinghua University. Education is the foundation of a century-long project. On April 19, General Secretary Xi Jinping inspected Tsinghua University and delivered an important speech, pointing out the way forward for the development of China's higher education and the construction of first-class universities, and raising high expectations for teachers and young students. The general secretary pointed out that the world-class universities we want to build are first-class universities of socialism with Chinese characteristics, and that China's socialist education is to cultivate socialist builders and successors who develop comprehensively in morality, intelligence, physique, aesthetics and labor. The general secretary sent a message to teachers: to become great teachers, to study real problems, and to have firm beliefs; and to young people born in a prosperous world: to shoulder heavy responsibilities, to love the country and the people, to temper morality, to be innovative, and to be practical. The meeting pointed out that colleges should earnestly implement the new tasks and new requirements of the general secretary on higher education, and take the spirit of the important speech of the general secretary as the guidance, transform the five unit-based learning results into a powerful force for promoting work: to study the  Development unit hard and take root to build a world-class university in China; to study the reform unit hard and deepen comprehensive reform to promote high-quality connotative development; to learn the youth unit well and implement the fundamental task of morality and cultivating new talents of the era; to learn the teacher morality Unit well, and strengthen teachers' ideology and politics to speed up the building of first-class teachers; to learn the party building unit well and adhere to the party's leadership and improve the quality of party building and ideological and political work.

Wu Jianguo, member of the party committee and vice Dean of the school of foreign languages, guided the party history study education project study, with the theme of a hundred-year-old party's wise leadership and a century of great changes in Chinese society, focusing on what the Communist Party of China is and how the Communist Party of China leads Chinese society to happen. He expounded the excellent characteristics of the Chinese Communist Party's courage to self-revolution, continuous self-purification, self-improvement, self-innovation, self-improvement, and adherence to its political character, its mission and responsibility. He also described the Chinese Communist Party's leadership of the people of the whole country from the turmoil of the old China to the order of New China, from poverty and neglect to the basic completion of industrialization, from economic decline to high-speed and high-quality economic development, from poverty alleviation to building a moderately prosperous society in an all-round way. The national pride, self-confidence, and cohesive force have been unprecedentedly improved in a century of great struggle, encouraging the whole school to further know the history and love the party more, to know the history and love the country, to strengthen the belief, and to work hard.

The meeting required all party branches and departments to combine the learning materials issued by the school, to integrate the spirit of the important speech of the general secretary during the inspection of Tsinghua University into the learning and education of party history, to organize in-depth learning activities, and to strive to learn deeply and effectively. The meeting summarized the basic situation of party history learning and education in the previous stage, and pointed out that the existing features were not distinctive, and that some individual branches’ promotion was insufficient, and that each branch was required to complete the self-examination and summary in mid-June. The meeting also deliberated the Guidelines for Communication between Teachers and Students of the School of Foreign Languages and the development of party members in the first half of the year, and made a judgment and deployment of the recent ideological work.

During the learning conference
