On December 19th, the “2020 New Think Tank Governance and Ideological Theory Communication Forum” hosted by Nanjing University and Guangming Daily, sponsored by China Think Tank Research and Evaluation Center of Nanjing University and Think Tank Research and Publication Center of Guangming Daily was held in Nanjing city. This forum released the 2020 CTTI (Chinese Think Tank Index) think tank supplement list. The Research Center for Indian Ocean Island Countries (RCIOIC) of South China University of Technology was successfully selected into the list of CTTI source think tank.

According to the information released by the organizers of the forum, a total of 315 think tanks nationwide applied for CTTI source think tank this year. On the basis of the review indicators such as academic foundation, resource guarantee, operation and achievements, international exchanges and cooperation, these candidates think tanks were strictly reviewed and assessed by experts. Ultimately, 99 supplementary think tanks were selected with the approval rate of only 31%. Professor Zhu Xianlong, deputy director of RCIOIC Center, took the stage to receive the CTTI certificate on behalf of the Center, and was invited to give a speech on the topic of Responsibility of new university think tanks with Chinese characteristics in enhancing China's voice in the world at the thematic forum “Great changes unseen in a century worldwide and new strategies for ideological and theoretical communication”.

Awarding the CTTI Certificate
Since 2017, when it was approved by the Ministry of Education for record construction, the RCIOIC Center, with the fundamental orientation of serving for the national strategy and regional economic as well as social development, has devoted itself to the strategic, forward-looking and original research of the less popular small country, which is urgently needed by the state. Relying on the advantages of interdisciplinary integration in the school, the center integrates the forces of government and Industry-University-Research cooperation to build an entity platform integrating the functions of policy consultation, academic research, personnel training, social service and foreign exchange. The center deeply focuses on important issues such as language policy, overseas Chinese, regional diplomacy and higher education cooperation, and promotes the coordinated development of think tanks and discipline construction. Over the past three years, the Center has conducted major research projects in philosophy and social sciences of Ministry of Education, and more than 10 projects of various levels and types such as National Social Science Funds, also submitted more than 30 decision-making consulting reports to not only central ministries and commissions but also relevant departments of provinces and cities. In addition, it has published numerous theoretical articles in Guangming Daily and other newspapers and periodicals, and released more than 30 papers in domestic and foreign journals. The influence of the center continues to rise, attracting widespread attention from all walks of life.
CTTI was jointly funded by China Think Tank Research and Evaluation Center of Nanjing University and Think Tank Research and Publication Center of Guangming Daily. CTTI, which includes database subsets such as institutional database, expert database, institutional product database and institutional activity database, is a large-scale think tank search engine and data management platform with independent intellectual property rights, and has strong authority in domestic think tank evaluation field.
