On the afternoon of June 11th, the School of Foreign Languages held a Party committee theory learning meeting to convey and study the important speeches and spirits made by General Secretary Xi Jinping at this year's National People's Congress and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (hereinafter referred to as two sessions). The meeting was presided over by Liu Yingsi, secretary of the Party committee of the school, and all members of the Party committee theory learning group attended the study.

Wu Jianguo lectured the guidance learning. He pointed out that the two sessions are important meetings held at a time when major achievements have been made in the fight against the epidemic. The whole Party has pooled wisdom and strength to win the battle against poverty and build a moderately prosperous society in all respects, and work together to coordinate epidemic prevention and control with economic and social development. General Secretary Xi Jinping delivered important speeches on many occasions when participating in the deliberations and discussions of delegations, showing great foresight and overall vision, providing a powerful ideological weapon and an important guide for the country to coordinate epidemic prevention and control as well as promote economic and social development. His speech centered around General Secretary Xi Jinping’s speeches and spirits whose cores are people supremacy, epidemic prevention and control, economic development, poverty alleviation, public health, and national security. The spirits vividly reflected Xi’s care for the people, and his wills to improve the well-being of the people while relying on them. The speeches also combed General Secretary’s general ideas and high expectations of ensuring and improving people's livelihood, carrying out the construction of public health system and national security.

Members of the theory Learning group carried out in-depth study and discussion on the guidance learning and combined it with the construction of the foreign languages school. It was widely believed that the successful holding of the two sessions had far-reaching significance. Celebrating the 100 anniversary of the Communist Party of China and at a new starting point, our university was in a critical period of holding the 17th South China University of Technology Congress of the Communist Party of China. We should thoroughly study and implement the two sessions and the spirits of General Secretary Xi Jingpin’s speeches, earnestly unify thinking and action, strengthen our confidence, seize all the opportunities, overcome the challenges, and develop in a scientific way. We will promote both regular epidemic prevention and control and the development of our School, striving to open up a new situation of double first-class university construction.

       At the meeting, Liu Yingsi conveyed the main spirits of the regular meeting of the Secondary Party organization secretaries and the promotion meeting of university employment, and made specific arrangements for the work of school’s Party committee and promoting employment.
