The virus is ruthless, while there is love in the world. Thanks to the concerted efforts of the whole country, the epidemic is and will be well prevented and controlled, and the battle against COVID-19 has achieved staged success. However, the imported cases and epidemic prevention and control still need to be kept on high alert. The Alumni Association of School of Foreign Languages cared deeply about the school and actively organized donations of epidemic prevention materials to help fight the epidemic.

On the afternoon of March 25, president of Meiyu Education Group, Liu Wenfei, graduating in 1998; Yang Song, graduating in 2000 and now working in Guangzhou Haichuang International Co., LTD.; all the alumni graduating from English Class 3 in 2009; Kong Yingxin, Li Yu, Ou Qingfa and Zhao Chenguang, graduating in 2009, donated medical masks, thermometers, hand sanitizer and other precious epidemic prevention materials. This was the second batch of donations and all the donations were used for our college’s epidemic prevention and control. The college organized a short donation ceremony, and all college leaders attended this ceremony as well as a symposium.

In the symposium, the leaders introduced the measures adopted by our school to prevent and control the epidemic, the online courses, and I am OK health information system to the alumni representatives. At the same time, the leaders also spoke highly of the support from all the alumni, expressed sincere gratitude and expressed hope to give full play to the alumni resources, for example, making more and more alumni join the team of extramural master supervisor and help cultivate students. Alumnus Liu Wenfei said that he was pleased to know that all the teachers and students in college were in good condition. This demonstrated the organizational ability as well as discipline of school and our college, and the superiority of national system, which enabled people to build up confidence to win the battle against the COVID-19 epidemic. In order to better support the college, Liu Wenfei especially donated a batch of teaching equipment to the college, expecting to strengthen the production-learning-research cooperation with college. Alumnus Yang Song expressed his nostalgia for college life and gratitude to alma mater, and hoped to contribute to the construction and development of the college. The other alumni who attended the meeting expressed their best wishes to alma mater and said that they would go hand in hand with us to overcome difficulties together.
The alumni have made substantial contributions to our school’s epidemic prevention and control, which not only strengthened our school’s confidence in the fight against the epidemic, but also showed a strong sense of social responsibility. The school would strictly implement the overall deployment of epidemic prevention as well as control and allocate donated materials for important links, ensuring the orderly progress of college’s epidemic prevention and control work and resolutely defeating the COVID-19 outbreak.
