On the afternoon of December 12th, Vice President Zhu Zhe and Professor Su Xinlian from School of Foreign Languages, China University of Mining and Technology visited our institute for investigation. The School of Foreign Languages held a symposium in Conference Room No.4417, attended by Xu Ying, vice president, Liu Xiqin, deputy director of Business English Department, and Zhou Pingdi, deputy director of College English Teaching Department.

    Xu Ying welcomed the visiting guests and introduced the basic conditions of the teaching of college English and English majors in our college, especially highlighting the features and highlights in teaching and team building. In recent years, the Business English Department of our college has made remarkable achievements in professional teaching, cultural quality education, scientific research and social practice, and has been among the best in the evaluation of undergraduate education in China. College English Teaching Department pays attention to the promotion of academic English, and has made outstanding contributions to the cultivation of international talents of science and engineering in our school, and won many national and provincial awards. Zhu Zhe said that the School of Foreign Languages of South China University of Technology has made great achievements in personnel training, teaching and research, etc., and there are many experiences worth learning from. In-depth discussion is made on the problems of heavy teaching tasks, difficult promotion of teachers' professional titles and academic qualifications, which are commonly faced by both sides in public English and professional English in China. It is hoped that in the future, the contact will be further strengthened to realize mutual assistance and sharing of teaching achievements and resources.
