The Activity Scene
On the afternoon of October 10th, 2019, the English department faculty’s party branch organized its members to conduct a party day activity themed Glorious China and Industrious People celebrating the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and performed a heated and in-depth communication and discussion on it.
During the activity, Professor Lei Xiao, the deputy secretary of the branch, conveyed the department’s spirit of “Stay True to the Original Intention and Keep in Mind the Mission” when mobilizing members and deploying learning and working tasks. Besides, he conducted a comprehensive and detailed work arrangement based on the reality, which promoted the awareness of the future learning focus and main tasks. Professor Yang Mei, the secretary of the branch, delivered a themed educational report, inspiring members to base themselves on their own educational work and fight for a more glorious China together.
Each member joined the heated discussion and expressed their own opinions on the educational theme of Glorious China and Industrious People. According to them, after watching the film My Motherland and Me collectively on the evening of September 29, they were deeply moved and inspired by the continuous self-improvement, hard work, and indomitable spirit of generations of Chinese sons and daughters in it, and they were more determined and confident to pass on and carry forward these great spirits. Meanwhile, all of them came to the realization of the need to examine and rectify their own shortcomings and improve themselves in the future teaching and scientific research work. Combining the theme of the party day activity and the relevant themes of the life meeting, everyone actively suggested to go deep into the surrounding communities, schools, etc., to carry out various forms of volunteer service activities.
