Mobilization Meeting Opened for Better Master Degree Thesis

     On the afternoon of May 14, 2019, the School of Foreign Languages held the second mobilization meeting for the graduation and dissertation proposal of graduate students in lecture hall 502, Building 4. The meeting was presided over by Deng Renhua, Director of the Graduate Teaching Department, and Deputy Dean Wu Jianguo attended the conference to carry out relevant education. The theme centered on the thesis revision of the graduating class, the thesis proposal of other students and so on.

   During the meeting, Wu elaborated the tasks faced by graduate students and arranged them respectively according to their grades. In order to meet the demand of double -blind peer review, he emphasized the quality of the thesis after explaining the overall situation. He also encourage the students to revise their thesis carefully according to the opinions of experts, ensure the quality of their thesis and keep away from academic misconduct. In addition, he also explained some matters related to the thesis defense and graduation ceremony, including the time and requirements, hoping that all students would have excellent performance in the defense.


Speech by Deputy Dean Wu Jianguo

    When it comes to the thesis proposal, Wu highlighted its process, writing methods, detailed requirements and points for attention, requiring students to communicate with their tutors, choose the topics prudently and be realistic. He also listed five characteristics of a good topic in relation to the requirements of the thesis proposal, especially for those who are on their way to doctorates, including novelty, value, interest, practicality and sustainability.


    In order to further enhance the level of discipline construction and cultivate outstanding graduate students, the school has always attached great importance to the quality of master thesis and has organized mobilization meetings for many times, in the hope that all graduate students can reach a consensus, devote themselves to research and study, grasp their targets, reap a harvest and make contributions to the discipline and academic development of the school.
