Attendees are having in depth exchanges

    On the morning of May 27, 2019, Li Shiyong, Director of Social Sciences Administration Department of SCUT, visited the School of Foreign Languages to conduct research. Dean Zhong Shuneng, Deputy Dean WuJianguo, other academic leaders, heads of the think tank and members of academic Committee attended the research meeting.

   The leaders and experts at the meeting held heated discussion on the recent achievements of the school, the classification of social science achievements, the demand of upgrading the results retrieval system, the construction of the Indian Ocean Island Research Centerand other problems needed to be solved. In recent years, the members of School of Foreign Languages have published more research papers with higher quality. The school had attained two provincial scientific research achievement award last year and delivered fruitful outcomes in terms of social science projects this year,which inspired the faculty of the school and won the affirmation of the university, thus laying a solid foundation for the further academic leap of the school. All attendees reached a consensus on promoting social science and academic level. The Social Sciences Administration Department will make greater efforts to support the scientific research work of the School of Foreign Languages while the school will mobilize all the members to conduct scientific research and make contributions to the prosperity of philosophy and social science. The leaders of the department stressed that the school could draw from the experience of other universities when classifying scientific research achievements in order to grasp the objective criterion. When it comes to the think tank research, they highlighted that the school should start from the strategic needs of China, focus on the practical use of the research and reflect the results in written reports so as to provide think tank resources for national governance, provide suggestions for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and realize the research value in the most effective way.
