The Leadership Team of the School of Foreign Languages Held the 2018 Annual Democratic Meeting

In the afternoon of January 10, 2019, the leadership team of the School of Foreign Languages held a democratic meeting in Conference Room 4417 of Building No.4All party and government leaders of the school attended the meeting, besudes, Li Shiyong, supervisor and director of the Social Science Department, attended the meeting and guided related work arrangements. The meeting was chaired by Liu Yingsi, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Foreign Languages.

At the meeting, Liu Yingsi briefly introduced the theme and organizational preparation of the democratic meeting at the beginning. In strict accordance with the requirements of the university, the Party Committee of the School of Foreign Languages held a forum for department heads, a forum for student representatives and a forum for democratic party members before the meeting. What'smore, suggestion boxes and emails have been set up to collect opinions and suggestions from all teachers and students; the theoretical study center group of the school have been organized to carry out "Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era "The team members completethe heart-to-heart talks among the party members and cadres by themselves; wrote the control materials carefully and did a good job in the preparatory work for the democratic meeting.

Subsequently, Liu Yingsi made a cross-checking report on behalf of the leadership team. Focusing on three aspects, such as ideology and politics, mental state and work style, he made a profound and thorough cross-checking, and made a detailed report on the main problems generally reflected by the public and the team's self-examination, the analysis of the causes of the problems and the rectification measures. The members of the leadership team made a personal self-analysis one by one, focusing on the shortcomings and the analysis of the reasons, and put forward the direction of future efforts and methods of improvement.

In addition to self-analysis, members of the team also expressed their opinions freely and launched a warm and sincere mutual criticism, putting forward targeted opinions and suggestions on the shortcomings of the leading cadres in discipline construction, teaching management, work efficiency, way of handling things, work ideas,etc., so as to achieve the purpose of "unity-criticism-unity", improving together and promoting the development of the school.

Finally, Li Shiyong delivered a speech. He fully praised the democratic forum of the leadership team of the School of Foreign Languages, and considered that the criticism and self-criticism among the members of the leadership team of the cchool were very sincere and heartfelt, and what they offered  for themselves helped each other to raise awareness and find the right problems, which inspired and educated him. 

Li Shiyong, on behalf of the school's party committee, put forward several requirements for the leadership team of the School of Foreign Languages: first, to raise the political level and resolutely achieve the "two safe guards"; second, to take charge and solidly promote the development of the cause; third, to take the lead in changing the style of work and create a good political ecology. 

At the same time, he also combined his own work to discuss several experiences and suggestions for the future discipline construction and scientific research work of the School of Foreign Languages: first, we should change the way of scientific research and create ascientific research atmosphere, and hope that the school will carry out integrated planning and key brand planning; second, we should pay attention to the construction of think tanks, pay attention to the development needs of the country, and carry out targeted work in a timely and effective manner; third, scientific research work should rely on teamwork and combine with party building to carry out scientific research work; fourth, we should strengthen scientific research work; fourth, we should strengthen the prevention and control of ideological risks such as academic lectures and reports; fifth, we should take the development work of the school as the center and introduce powerful initiatives to promote discipline construction and talent cultivation; sixth, we should accelerate the development of highly intellectual party members and play the pioneering role of party members in discipline construction and scientific research work.
