On the afternoon of January 21, 2019, Zhang Yongning, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Liberal Arts of China University of Petroleum (East China), Han Shuqin, Vice Dean of the School, and Guo Yueqin, Director of Graduate Foreign Language Teaching Department, visited our school. Liu Yingsi, Secretary of the Party Committee, Cai Jinting, Vice President of the School, Han Jinlong, Head of College English Teaching Team, and Li Yingguan, Head of Postgraduate English Teaching Team attended the exchange meeting.
On behalf of the school, Secretary Liu Yingsi welcomed the visit of Secretary Zhang Yongning and his delegation, and introduced the basic situation of the school in terms of faculty strength, professional settings and discipline construction. He expressed his hope to discuss and exchange experiences with School of Arts of China University of Petroleum (East China) in depth.
Secretary Zhang Yongning expressed the purpose of the visit and briefly introduced the construction and development status of the School of Liberal Arts of China University of Petroleum (East China). He said that the School of Arts and Letters of China University of Petroleum(East China) is facing a bottle neck in the development of English teaching of university students and postgraduates, and that it has unique experience in English teaching and general education courses based on the background advantages of science and technology institutions, which is of great significance to the education and teaching reform of the university.
The two sides then had a close exchange around the reform of English teaching of university students and postgraduates, undergraduate general education curriculum and the declaration of the action plan for the promotion of original cultural excellence of the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, learning from each other's experiences and practices, which played a positive role in further promoting the education and teaching reform of both sides.
