The 19th National Pishu Annual Conference, hosted by Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) and organized by Social Sciences Academic Press, was opened in Yantai, Shandong Province, from August 3 to 4, 2018. With the theme of Pishuin New Era: Future and Trend, the conference was attended by nearly 600 experts and scholars from colleges and universities, Academy of Social Sciences, national Pishu study groups and other related fields. Relevant leaders from Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Government of Shandong Province, Publishers Association of China and Social Sciences Academic Press attended the conference and delivered speeches. Professor Zhong Shuneng, director of RCIOIC, Professor Zhu Xianlong, deputy director of RCIOIC, and Professor Li Yingyuan, member of Academic Committee, were invited to participate in the relevant activities of the annual conference.

Scene of conference
The annual conference set up keynote speeches, academic reports, academic salons and several subforums to conduct in-depth discussions on topics such as Pishu innovations and think tank construction, Pishu innovations andnational and regional studies, and Pishu innovations and think tank construction in universities. During the conference, members of Research Center for Indian Ocean Island Countries (RCIOIC) fully communicated with leaders of Social Sciences Academic Press and experts related to Pishu studies, and exchanged views on the feasibility and research and innovation plan of the Blue Book of Indian Ocean Island Countries.
