Professor Lin illustrated the value and importance of protecting silk road heritages from the perspective of economy, history and culture. He took “transnational application of silk road for world heritage”as an example with abundant data and pictures, showed how scholars of different institutions and countries broke the limitations of nationality, religion and identity, and how they worked together to overcome obstacles for the world heritage application of silk road.

Professor Lin talked about the targeted countries’ research of RCIOIC and the current research of Indian Ocean regions in the world. He also introduced in details some international academic institutions and lectures relating to RCIOIC, and offered feasible suggestions on the research perspective of those targeted counties.

After the lecture, Professor Lin had active interactions with RCIOIC members and answered many questions about the research of Indian Ocean island countries. Professor Lin suggested that region and country research should be done with an international outlook and SFL can fully take advantage of foreign languages to communicate with academic research institutions in the world.
