The lecture was hosted by Doctor Lei Xiao.
Professor Gao started his lecture by sharing with the audience his dilemma of being an editor, then he showed several abstracts which have been rejected by the journal and analyzed the reasons from a perspective of an editor. He further pointed out that an author should pay more attention to his language, structure, abstract, etc. Subsequently, professor Gao talked about two points that an author should take into consideration while he or she is writing a paper. One is that a paper should be persuasive with strong arguments; the other is that the research methods should be rigorous. Finally, he analyzed the current challenges and opportunities of scholarly research.
