On the morning of December 14, 2022, Huang Lingcai, Chief Engineer of AVIC Tongfei South China Aircraft Industry Co., Ltd. and Chief Designer of Kunlong AG600 amphibious aircraft, Geng Leiming, Director of Science and Technology Management Department, and Yang Jun, Manager of Science and Technology Management Department, and their team of three visited the School of Civil Engineering and Transportation of South China University of Technology to carry out exchanges and visits. Mr. Lin Yiwen, Executive Vice President of Science and Technology Research Institute, Mr. Wu Bo, Dean of School of Civil Engineering and Transportation, Mr. Yao Xiaohu, Vice Dean of School of Civil Engineering and Transportation, and teachers from Department of Engineering Mechanics, including Mr. Huang Huaiwei, Mr. Meng Lingyi, Mr. Zhang Leun, Mr. Long Shuchang, and Mr. Tang Xiaochang, etc., attended the exchange meeting. The exchange meeting was hosted by Vice Dean Yao Xiaohu.
The leaders of the university research institute and our college who attended the exchange meeting expressed their warm welcome to the visit of Chief Engineer Huang Lingcai. Mr. Huang made a wonderful report on the background of research and development, progress of research and the prospect of the application of large-scale fire-fighting/water-rescue amphibious aircraft Kunlong AG600, which is the first one independently developed by China to meet the requirements of the national emergency rescue system and natural disaster prevention and control system. AG600 is the first major aviation equipment independently developed by China to meet the needs of the national emergency rescue system and natural disaster prevention and control system, with a maximum takeoff weight of 60 tons, and is known as the Three Musketeers of China's large aircraft family together with the large transport aircraft Yun-20 and the large passenger aircraft C919. Its technology demonstrator has successfully realized the first flight on land, water and sea, and will play an important role in forest fire fighting, water rescue and other aviation emergency rescue tasks.

Lin Yiwen, Executive Vice President of the Institute of Science and Technology, introduced to the guests the general situation of South China University of Technology and the outstanding achievements made by the university in recent years in the fields of scientific research and serving the major national needs, and elaborated in detail the possible cooperation points of the relevant disciplines and scientific research teams of the university in the light of each other's current demand for scientific research cooperation. President Wu Bo elaborated the basic situation of the School of Civil Engineering and Transportation, and hoped that the two sides would strengthen cooperation in scientific research and talent cultivation. Vice President Yao Xiaohu thanked AVIC Tongfei South China Company for its long-term support to the training of mechanics professionals, and introduced the achievements of the Department of Engineering Mechanics in the field of national defense science and industry and aviation. Mr. Geng Leiming, Minister of Tongfei South China Company, explained the construction of the company's scientific research platform and projects. Both parties had in-depth exchanges on topics such as cooperation in scientific research projects, exchange of laboratories and talents, and construction of postdoctoral workstations. After the meeting, Mr. Huang Lingcai and his delegation visited some laboratories of the school and the college. This visit promoted mutual understanding between the two sides, and laid a good foundation for the future comprehensive and in-depth cooperation between our college and AVIC Tongfei South China.
