It is reported that the international mechanics contest has been jointly sponsored by many universities in the Russian Federation and has been held for 14 consecutive sessions. More than 40 well-known universities from Russia, Belarus, Poland, Turkmenistan, China and other countries participate. It is held every April at the Belarus national transportation University in Gomel, Belarus.

The school of civil engineering and transportation of our university has always attached significant importance to the teaching of basic mechanics and the consolidation of students' mechanical foundation. With the strong support of the academic affairs office of the university, the department of engineering mechanics of the school of civil engineering and transportation appointed Yang Haibing to guide and lead the participating team. The participating team was composed of four students, including Fan Chengkai from grade 16th, Jin Zili, Liu Huan and Lin Shanhong from grade 17th. They went to Nanjing to participate in the event and achieved good results. This mechanics competition is a good attempt to introduce international mechanics competitions into China for the first time. The Department of engineering mechanics of the College of civil engineering and transportation will also seize the guiding role of discipline competitions in higher education talent training, teaching improvement and quality education, and strive to achieve better results in future competitions and win glory for the school.
