Recently, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and the 37th teachers' day, the Education Working Committee of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee, the Guangdong Provincial Department of education, the Guangdong Provincial Department of human resources and social security and the Guangdong Federation of trade unions issued ‘The decision on commending excellent teachers and educators in southern Guangdong’. A total of 1367 comrades in the province were awarded the title of ‘Excellent teachers in southern Guangdong’, 150 comrades were awarded the title of ‘Outstanding educators in southern Guangdong’. Five comrades from South China University of technology won the title of Excellent teacher in south Guangdong, and one comrade won the title of ‘Excellent educator in south Guangdong’. Among them, Professor Xiaoqing Zhang, Department of Engineering Mechanics and Party branch of mechanics, School of civil engineering and transportation, won the title of ‘Excellent teacher in south Guangdong’.
On the morning of September 9, the provincial Party committee and the provincial government held a meeting in Guangzhou to celebrate the 2021 teachers' day and commend excellent teachers. Professor Xiaoqing Zhang of our college was invited to attend the meeting as the representative of the award-winning teachers.

Xiaoqing Zhang, doctor, professor, doctoral supervisor, chief professor of basic mechanics teaching team, member of the female scientific and technological workers Committee of the Chinese society of mechanics, member of the engineering structure safety protection professional group of the special committee of explosive mechanics of the Chinese society of mechanics, and executive director of the Guangdong society of mechanics.
She has won the national Xu Zhilun mechanics excellent teacher award, the excellent teaching award of Guangdong mechanics society, the famous teacher of South China University of technology, the Undergraduate Teaching Outstanding Award and Excellence Award of South China University of technology, the first prize of the undergraduate classroom teaching competition for young teachers, etc. She is the person in charge of the national first-class undergraduate course and the first-class undergraduate course mechanics of materials in Guangdong Province, and the person in charge of the series of online open courses mechanics of materials in Guangdong Province.
She presided over 3 National Natural Science Foundation projects, 2 Guangdong Natural Science Foundation projects and more than 30 other scientific research and engineering projects; Presided over and participated in a number of national, provincial and ministerial teaching and research projects and course construction; Won one second prize of Provincial Natural Science and one third prize of Provincial Scientific and Technological Progress; Published more than 100 academic papers, of which more than 60 have been included by EI and SCI; Edited one textbook, one study guide, one digital course, presided over one MOOC, and published many teaching and research papers.
