The 6th National Conference on CFD in Marine and Ocean Engineering was held at SCUT on November 28 and 29. With the aim of encouraging innovation, expanding way of thinking, and then contributing wisdom and strength to the development of China's Marine and ocean engineering equipment and technology, the conference invited more than 200 representatives from more than 30 universities and research institutes and enterprises in China to exchange the latest research technical achievements and experiences of CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) technology in the field of ship and ocean engineering. This conference had set a number of new records in the number of participants, the number of reports, the level of reports and the quality of papers, etc, praised by leader, experts and participants.

The experts participated believed that CFD algorithm and software, as an important field of independent innovation and development of industrial software in China, ushered in a good development opportunity, and had a broad prospect of research and application in the field of ship and ocean engineering. During the conference, the executive committee and academic group decided to hold the conference every year instead of every two years. Next year, the conference will be held in Northwestern Polytechnical University.
