On June 30, the 10th Innovation Competition in Construction Engineering and Management (ICCEM10) is held in Tsinghua University. Three teams of South China University of Technology gave outstanding performance, won the first prize (only one), third prize and outstanding award. The total score of our school is very excellent, which means we occupied three places in a total of twelve finalists and ranked first among them. Students of SCUT achieved good results again in this international event.

18 teams from domestic and foreign universities participated in this competition, among which 81 groups submitted the preliminary work (from 33 universities). There are 12 teams qualify for the finals through the screening of the preliminary competition. In the fierce final competition, the three teams from the school of civil and transportation, leading by teachers Yousong Wang, Yan Zhang, Qiyu Shen, Hui Yan, Fan Wu, Hongyang Li and Yichuan Deng, gave presentations with fluent English and interesting display, answered the questions asked by national judges without any fear and coped with the emergences calmly. Their performance showed a rigorous level of thinking, high professional qualities and display ability. They were highly praised by the judges and audience and their works are highly concerned.
The three teams showed their work with vivid forms such as videos, plays and so on, which left a deep impression to the judges and the audience. All the members of each team are involved in the presentation, reflecting the excellent team spirit of cooperation. It is a truly good show of the students of SCUT style.

The Department of Engineering and Management regard this competition as an important opportunity to test the teaching quality and student’s ability. The instructors and students are required to go all out in this global event to fully demonstrate the college and professional level. Before the final, the participants have rehearsed twice in front of the instructors, they were given many suggestions relative to the content frame, PPT design, the show and so on, which improved the quality of the projects and built the foundation for the final perfect show.
