Introduction of the speaker: Professor Nemkumar Banthia is the Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada, the Canadian Academy of Engineering, the American Concrete Institute, and the Indian Society of Concrete. The research directions of Professor Nemkumar Banthia focus on the cement based or polymer based fiber reinforced materials, especially on the standard test method of the material and, fracture behavior, the effect of the rate of strain, the sustainability of materials and their development. He is the inventor of the method that strengthen structures by spraying the fiber reinforced polymer. In the field of cement based fiber reinforced material, he invented a number of fibers, which are widely used in big projects around the world, used to strengthen the concrete and shotcrete.
