On March 9th, President Au Peng-Kong of Civil Engineering Laboratory of Macau (LECM) and his colleagues visited the School of Civil Engineering and Transportation. Dean Su Cheng, Vice Dean Li Meichun and some academic staffs attended the symposium and discussion.
Symposium
At the symposium, Dean Su made introduction on the university and the school to the visitors, and also made detail introduction the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Belt and Road forum, organized by the Hong Kong University (HKU), South China University of Technology (SCUT) and LECM in October this year. President Au acknowledged the invitation of the school, and praised the high-quality research of the school. He hoped that there would be chance of corporations in research between LECM and SCUT, such as structural health monitoring, building material, geotechnical engineering, and other aspects. At the same time, President Au made some suggestions on the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Belt and Road forum, and he invited the academic staffs from the school to participate in the 30-anniversary celebration of LECM, held in July of year in Macao.
Laboratory Visiting
After the symposium, President Au and his colleagues visited the labs of the schools, including structural lab, earthquake lab, wind tunnel lab, fire resistant lab, building material lab, geotechnical lab, structure health monitoring lab, building information modelling lab, transportation lab, traffic engineering and road lab. President Au expressed admiration and looked forward to further cooperation with the school in the future.

It is reported that the Civil Engineering Laboratory of Macau (LECM) was established in 1988, which is a non-profitable technology and scientific public organization, with independent technology, budget and property. It provides technical and testing services in the field of civil engineering for the Macao Special Administrative Region government, the public and private civil engineering companies.
