Recently, according to the result of natural science fund program winner, vice-president Wang in SCET won the fund for outstanding youth in natural science of Guangdong Province. This is the first time that a professor has won that fund.
It is reported that compared to last year , another 8 professor won this fund. In 2012, Guangdong province natural science fund launched this fund program for outstanding youths to support innovative young talents under 35 years old. This program had formed a great connection with national outstanding youth fund launched by national natural science fund committee. So far, 24 scientific researchers have won this fund.

Wang Jiong, the vice-professor, who is 34 years old, is also one of the Humboldt scholars. His major researching fields include Nonlinear elastic-plastic mechanics and Analysis of mechanical behavior of a new type of material. In the past few years, he has published 16 journals on J. Mech. Phys. Solids, Mechanics of Materials etc. Besides, he cooperates with AREVA Erlangen.
