Introduction of speaker:
Roman is the Research Group Leader of CSIRO’s Food Transformation Group which focuses on the development of processing platform technologies and services that deliver sustainable gains in productivity and efficiency across the food value-chain. He has a PhD in Food Engineering from the Berlin University of Technology, Germany, and has held a number of leadership positions at CSIRO in project management, resource management and strategic planning. Roman’s research interests include sustainable food manufacture, designing new food structures and textures, and the development of safe and healthy food ingredients and products through advanced food processing technologies. He has actively carry-out research work in these areas, most of which is published in his approximately 75 Journal articles and book chapters. Roman is actively involved in promoting the Food Engineering profession through his professional membership in the Australian Food Engineering Association, AIFST and IFT.
