On May 5th, People's Daily published the 2024 National Scholarship Recipients Representative List for Postgraduates. Zhong Wenye, a 2022-grade doctoral postgraduate majoring in Environmental Science and Engineering at the School of Environment and Energy of our school, was selected into the list.

Introduction to the Awarded Student:

Zhong Wenye

Zhong Wenye is a 2022-grade doctoral postgraduate majoring in Environmental Science and Engineering at the School of Environment and Energy, South China University of Technology. He is of the Han nationality and a Communist Party member. He has been awarded the National Scholarship three times successively; he has been granted such honorary titles as "National Top 100 Graduate Student Party Members Pacemakers" and "Guangdong University Student of the Year"; he has won awards such as the Gold Award of the China International College Students Innovation Competition. Focusing on the resource utilization of environmental pollutants under the major "double carbon" strategy, he has published 7 SCI Top District papers as the first author/co-first author. Among them, 2 papers are selected into ESI Highly Cited Papers, and 1 paper is selected as the cover paper; he has obtained 5 national invention patent authorizations; he has been selected into the "Young Talent Support Project" doctoral special project of the China Association for Science and Technology; he has presided over the "Climbing Plan" Strategic Science and Technology Special Project (Key Project) of Guangdong Province; he has gone deep into rural areas and front-line enterprises to carry out technical discussions and on-the-spot investigations; as the secretary of the student party branch, he has led the branch to be approved as a cultivation and creation unit of the "Guangdong Provincial Party Building Work Model Party Branch".
