Curriculum Vitae

  • Prof.Liu Jiang is a director of the Chinese Silicate Society, and a director and secretary-general of the Solid State Ions Branch of the Chinese Silicate Society. She graduated from the Department of Physics of Jilin University, and then stayed in the university as a teacher for more than ten years. She has been engaged in research related to solid oxide fuel cells (SOFC) for a long time. She has worked as a collaborative researcher, visiting scholar, researcher and senior research scholar in the Department of Applied Chemistry, Faculty of Engineering, Osaka Prefectural University, Japan, the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Georgia Institute of Technology, USA, the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Northwestern University, USA, and the University of Pennsylvania, USA, respectively. From 1995 to 2000, she participated in the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) project "Development of Tubular Thin Film Solid Oxide Fuel Cells", the National Planning Commission of China (NPC) and the Jilin Provincial Planning Commission (JPMC), and the Department of Materials Science and Engineering of the University of Pennsylvania (USA). Since her transfer to South China University of Technology in May 2004, she has presided over more than ten projects under the "863" program of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China and the National Natural Science Foundation of China. Prof.Liu Jiang has been devoted to scientific research for a long time, from the reaction mechanism of SOFC, basic materials research, component fabrication process and performance, to the assembly of SOFC. She has conducted advanced and creative research. She has published 115 SCI papers and participated and communicated in many international academic conferences. She has applied for more than 20 Chinese and US invention patents, 18 of which have been granted. She was in the list of highly cited scholars in China for five consecutive years from 2014 to 2018.

  • Her current research interests are focused on the application of direct carbon solid oxide fuel cells for portable power supply and gas power co-generation, preparation of high value-added chemicals using solid oxide electrolytic cells, novel zinc-air batteries, and conductive ceramic-based stretched supercapacitors.
