The School of Arts was established in July 2004, comprisingthe Departments of Musicology, Instrumental Studies, Vocal Studies, Dance, andthe Center for Arts Education. Its predecessor was the Department of Arts underthe School of Humanities and Social Sciences, founded in 2002. The school is authorizedto grant master’s degrees of Fine Arts and offers aMaster of Arts (Music) degree.The Music Performance program has been designated asa national first-class undergraduate programme.
The school has established the “Base for the Inheritance ofOutstanding Traditional Chinese Culture (Guangdong Cantonese Opera)”,accredited by the Ministry of Education, and the “Guangdong ProvincialIntangible Cultural Heritage Research Base”, supported by the Department ofCulture and Tourism of Guangdong Province. It also maintains several teachingand performing ensembles, including the South China University of TechnologyYouth Symphony Orchestra, Choir, Chamber Ensemble, and Youth Dance Troupe. Manyfaculty members have received national awards such as the Golden BellAward, WenhuaAward, and LotusAward, and have undertakenprojects funded by the National Social Science Foundation and the National ArtsFund. The school has also established a student exchange program with WesleyanCollege (USA).
Adhering to the educational philosophy of cultivatingvirtue through creative art, the school promotes disciplinary development andtalent training through original artistic works. Representativeproductions include the oratorio The Pioneer – SunYat-sen, the chambersuite Across Qin and Canton in Time and Space, the dance performance BeautifulChina, the symphonicsuite My Home, My Country,the choral sound painting New Cantonese Voices: Hearing Guangdong, and the opera The Wedding on theExecution Ground. The schoolhas participated in major national performances such as The GreatJourney—a gala celebrating the 100th anniversary of the founding of theCommunist Party of China—and the 20th Anniversary Celebration of Macao'sReturn to the Motherland, earning wide acclaim. Students have also wonmultiple first and second prizes in the National UniversityStudent Art Performance Competitions.

II. Qualifications/Requirements:
Applicants must possess high moral standards, bephysically and mentally healthy, demonstrate a spirit of teamwork, andhave strong teaching abilities as well as other professional competenciesrequired for the position. They should be capable of teaching courses relatedto their respective disciplines.
Age: 50 years old orunder.
Educational experience: Applicants must have Master’sdegree or above
Professional Title: Professor, or Associate Professor whohas held the title for at least 5 years and whose recent achievements meet theuniversity’s criteria for promotion to full professorship.
Phd degree holders will be given priority consideration.
