Introduction:

Renowned baritone, professor of voice at the School of Arts, South China University of Technology, graduate student supervisor. National First-Class Performer, former vice president of the Guangdong Song and Dance Theater. Graduated from Xinghai Conservatory of Music, Operatic Vocal Department in 1997. Winner of the 1999 Sixth Goat City Music Flower Fair Vocal Competition Professional Group Bel Canto Singing, first prize; the 2003 Third China Golden Bell Prize; the 2003 Fourth China Music Golden Recording Prize; the 2007 First China Government Publishing Prize; the “National Outstanding Culture and Arts Production Prize” of the General Administration of Press and Publication; and the 2019 Guangzhou International Audio Recording Grand Prize “Top Male Singer of the Year Prize”.

He successfully cooperated with nationally and internationally renowned orchestras. He was casted as the major roles in the operas “Le Nozze di Figaro”, “Rigoletto”, “La Traviata”, “Aida”, and “Winding Stream Flowing Vessel Lan Ting Fair”, and the musical theaters “Les Misérables” as well as the oratorio “Sun Yat-Sen”. He was the soloist or the leading voice in Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony “Choral”, Orff’s Carmina Burana, symphonic suite “Yellow River Chorus”, symphonic poem “Heroic Poem – for Baritone and Orchestra”, and song suite “the Book of Songs – Happy Picture”. Among his solo recitals, the “Starlight – WU Zheming Solo Recital” and “Drunk by the River under the Moon - WU Zheming Ancient Poem and Song Solo Recital” were recorded live and the DVDs were release nationwide by the Pacific Audio & Video Company.

He is also a nationally successful crossover singer. Since 2001, he sang and recorded albums “Flowing Singing” series, “Little Shell Trumpet – Baritone and Chidren’s Voice”, “WU Zheming – Loud”, “Endless Love”, “Oriental Myth”, “Folk Song China” among other more than forty albums, which were released internationally and received warm welcome from global Chinese audience.
