In the afternoon of March 12, 2017. Chinese poetry concert was held in Panyu district.Theme of the Concert was love and share. Professor Wu guo ling and her students performed in the concert. Some of the classic Chinese poetry was sung.

The ancient Chinese poetry contains the traditional ideas, culture and spirit, which have penetrated through the Chinese psychological structure and have become the feature of national culture.

This kind of concert would set the poetry in school textbooks to music in an attempt to make them more appealing to students.

Associate Professor Wu guo ling  is Soprano. She graduated with a bachelor degree from Xinghai Conservatory of Music in 1999 and obtained Master degree of Music from Odessa State Academy of Music in Ukraine in 2002. She then got her PhD Degree in 2006. She has won the second prize in The World Singer Contest 2006 held in Ukraine and many other excellent prizes in international music contests. She successfully starred in the opera ‘Marriage of Figaro’  and the music opera ‘Phantom’. In 2009, she was invited to star in the opera ‘Madame Butterfly’ in the music hall of Hong Kong Great Hall and was highly praised by the audience and media with the comment of ‘Butterfly from Guangzhou flying over Hong Kong’. She successfully held three solo concerts in Hong Kong and Guangdong in 2005, 2010 and 2011 respectively. She is now the director of vocal performance  department of School of Arts in SCUT.
