Introduction:

Oboe artist, studied under the tutelage of renowned Chinese educators Professor Bai Yu, Professor Liu Zhongchun and Professor Liu Guanghui. Lin Jian is associate professor and graduate student supervisor of oboe at the School of Arts, South China University of Technology. He is also the conductor of the high-level art troupe of South China University of Technology. His directing brought the troupe the first prize of the Provincial Competition of College Students' Arts Showcase for numerous times. Lin has received the Silk Road Cultural Contribution Award, a Provincial and Ministerial level honor. He simultaneously serves as the deputy head of the South China University of Technology School of Arts Chamber Orchestra, the director of the Guangdong Wind Music Association, the principal oboe of the Symphony Orchestra of the Guangdong Provincial Wind Music Association. Lin has published several CSSCI articles and several monographs including “the Art of Oboe Playing - Skill Analysis and Teaching Research” and “Oboe Art Research”. Lin has been constantly invited to judge professional competitions around world and has held a large number of solo recitals, ensemble concerts, orchestral performances, lectures among other musical events, as well as a masterclass at the Zhejiang Conservatory of Music.
