Introduction:
In addition to associate professor of clarinet at the School of Arts, South China University of Technology, Wang Feng also serves as a graduate student supervisor, the deputy director of the Instrumental Music Department, and the deputy director of the Symphony Orchestra of SCUT. He is a member of the Chinese Musicians Association as well as the Guangdong Musicians Association.
In 1990, he enrolled in the Xi'an Conservatory of Music's Affiliated High School, where he was taught by Professor WANG Yu. In 1993, he continued his clarinet studies with Professor CHI Zheng at the] Xi'an Conservatory of Music. In 2001, he began his undergraduate studies at the Kassel City Conservatory of Music in Germany, with Professor Hadaschick. In 2005, he graduated and then enrolled in the Cologne Conservatory of Music in Germany to study with Professor Feneberg for a master degree. He continued to study for his doctorate after graduating in April 2007, and he received his doctorate in July 2008. Since graduation, he has been teaching at the School of Arts, South China University of Technology.
As a clarinet supervisor with strong emphasis on both research and teaching, he has prepared students to fully master the fundamental skills of clarinet performance and artistic expression, enabling them to participate in solo, chamber, and orchestral ensemble performances, as well as to organize, teach, and perform for general music activities, all in strict accordance with the PRC's Guiding Principle for Education and Training Standards and the SCUT's current education situation. He has applied and hosted SCUT's Introduced Intelligence Project of Overseas Renowned Teacher numerous times, inviting a variety of internationally renowned performers and pedagogues to teach at the school. Professor Muller from the Zurich Conservatory of Music, Mr. Pasca, a famous French clarinet virtuoso, and Mr. Gabor from the Royal Northern Conservatory of Music have all been invited to give lectures in 2019. As a supervisor, Wang Feng engaged in extensive teaching activities and was well recognized for his efforts.
