Prof. Zhang graduated with a master degree from Xi’an Conservatory of Music in 1992 under the supervision of Prof. Rao Yuyan, renowned composer and expert on theories of polyphonic music. Afterwords, he became a student of famous composers such as Chen Mingzhi, Lin Hua and Yang Liqing etc. He has won a lot of prize including Wenhua Prize from the Ministry of Culture and the Lu Xun Literary and Art Prize from the Guangdong Province.
