On September 6th, the second graduate students seminar of our department was held. Students from every research group presented their work in both oral and poster presentations. The subjects of this seminar covered lots of interesting topics in field of soft matters, such as delivery of protein drugs, rheological properties of polymer melts and so on.
In the opening remark, Professor Cheng, as dean of AISMST, said doing scientific research is similar growing a tree, basic knowledge is like roots underneath the ground, will decide how well a tree could grow. He also encourages students to expand depth and dimensions of research. The peer-review system was introduced to this seminar for award section. Five students along with five professors from our department were serve as grading committee members. After intense competition, students with excellent performance got poster and oral presentation award, respectively.
