On the morning of 9 July, 2020, the graduation meeting of the Class of 2020 of International School of Advanced Materials (ISAM) was held in Meeting Room 205, Building 14. Professor Yin Suhong, Vice Dean of School of Materials Science and Engineering, Dr. Xue Feng, the class advisor, faculty members of the Office of ISAM, and over 20 graduates have attended this symposium.

Prior to the meeting, all graduates watched the online graduation and degree awarding ceremony livestream with excitement and pride. Additionally, they listened to speeches of President Gao Song, distinguished alumnus and some outstanding graduates.

Students speak and give suggestions actively

In the meeting, Professor Yin and Dr. Xue gave speeches respectively. They congratulated on students' graduation and expressed good wishes that graduates could step forward on further studies, work or start-up businesses, and continually carry forward the spirit of studying assiduously of ISAM. They also encouraged students to give advice on the development of ISAM. Students put forward their opinions enthusiastically in a heated discussion. Critical suggestions were provided on aspects of quality of student cultivation, discipline construction and curriculum, full-English teaching mode, scientific research opportunities and class culture construction. Students suggested that the depth of curriculum could be improved while maintaining the breadth of the cultivating projects. Apart from these, they advised to strengthen the connection among teaching contents of different courses, enrich the curriculum, and combine theories and practices in order to make the curriculum and contents more up-to-date.

Professor Yin carefully listened to students' suggestions and opinions and took notes from graduates' speeches, answering their questions timely. She expressed that she would adopt reasonable suggestions from students and implement them so as to further optimize the professional teaching and cultivation level and create a better learning environment and development space for ISAM students.

Finally, Dr. Xue gave a concluding speech with hope that students could remain true to original aspiration and seize the day to persevere in dreams and forge ahead.
