Professor Zhu Min


Professor Zhu Min graduated from Dalian University of Technology (DUT) in 1982. He received his master degree in Science and started his teaching career at DUT in 1985. He received his PhD in 1988 and was engaged as an associate professor at School of Materials in DUT from 1990. In 1995, he began to work for South China University of Technology as a professor. In 1999, he was awarded as The National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars and was included in the Chang Jiang Scholars Program. Professor Zhu used to be the Croucher Visiting Scholar, Humboldt Research Fellow, invited Researcher and visiting Scholar, doing his research in some famous universities and institutes across the world, such as City University of Hong Kong, Technische Universität Berlin, The University of Tokyo, National Institute for Material Science ( Japan), and The University of Sydney. From 1998 to 2007, he was promoted from associate director to director at the School of Electrical Engineering, and then the president of School of Mechanical Engineering. In November 2007, he took on the position of Vice President in South China University of Technology.


Professor Zhu was engaged in teaching and researching on Materials Science and Engineering for a long time. His research covers Mechanical Alloying and Nanocrystalline Metal, Hydrogen Storage Material, Lithium Ion Cells and Batteries Materials, Phase Transformation in Alloy and Shape Memory Alloy, etc.
