About the speaker:
Dr. Tong Zhang
Dr. Tong Zhang acquired his PhD at Leeds University in the subject of semiconducting materials and engineering processes. He later went to Henley Business School to obtain a degree of MBA. He started his career at Imperial College London as a research associate and followed by research fellow/senior research fellow. In 2005, Tong joined a US company (MacDermid) to be a specialist of optical materials before moved to a FTSE listed company (Renishaw) as the Business Manager. The main academic focus was to apply various analytical tools for various functional materials. His last employment was the VP of Greater China and Head of Hong Kong Branch. He then founded his own orgnisation, Interlink Group in the genre of education. The mission of Interlink Group consists of two aspects: first, to focus on establishing and managing collaborations in the areas of education and culture exchanges; second, to facilitate academic and business training. In 2017, Digital Silk Road Research Institute (DSRI) was established under the approval of Ministry of Civil Affairs and supported by the State Administration for Industry and Commerce. Tong stepped up to be the first Dean of DSRI.
