An experience exchange meeting was held at A4-205 on 22th, Oct., in which our sophomores shared their studying and living experience to the freshmen. This meeting aimed at helping new comers to adapt the English immersion education and their campus life.

This meeting was composed of three parts: experiencesharing, question and answer, and photo taking. Xu Xiaotian, the Class Representative in Charge of Studies for second-year students took the initiate speech, sharing his experience in learning chemistry theories and doing experiments. He gave some detailed suggestions for the newcomers according to his former learning experience. And then, the rest members of Class Committee and some curve wreckers talked their study and living in SCUT to the newcomers, explaining the arrangement of their campus life.

Many students met many problems since this is the first time they living alone. They put forward their questions, hoping to get some useful advise from their seniors in referring to study, extra-curriculum activities, future plans, etc. Just like their elder sisters and brothers, the seniors answered all the questions and told them how to deal with their problems.

After about two hours of joyous and restful communication, the meeting was finished in group photo taking. With a sense of reluctance to part from the seniors, the newcomers saw the seniors off at the bus station, expressing their gratitude toward them. All of the students wished for another meeting soon so that they could talk and share more. Each student in International School of Advanced Materials is like a beam of light, coming together and lightening up campus life.
