Nature Forum on the Environmental Pillar of the ESGs and Sustainable Business
Virtual Event
Presented by: Nature Reviews Earth & Environment, Nature Climate Change and IESGA
The environment, social, and governance (ESG) concept was created in response to the demand for responsible investment and sustainable finance approaches. This concept examines the non-financial aspects of enterprises, including adverse effects of business activities on the environment through carbon emissions, waste generation, overexploitation of natural resources, and biodiversity deterioration. ESG scores are meant to guide socially and environmentally conscientious investors, but differences amongst rating methodologies and often limited datasets create confusion and constrain the efficacy of E scoring as a tool for greening the financial sector.
During this Nature forum, speakers will examine the ESGs, focusing on the environmental pillar in particular. A panel discussion with the speakers will identify essential ESG scoring and investing research and provide potential solutions.
