Academic activity week held in SPA

In order to promote academic communication and create a strong academic atmosphere, SPA Academic Activity Week, composed of 4 series lecture, was held on August 24 to 28. Undergraduates and graduate students of 2018 cohort and 2019 cohort attended the activity.

On the first day of the academic activity week, Prof. DING Huanfeng, Deputy Dean and Doctoral Supervisor of School of Economics and Finance of SCUT, delivered a speech with the theme of "National will and New Era Mission for the Greater Bay Area construction ". Through Prof. DING’s Speech, students had a deeper understanding of the basic situation and development trend of the Greater Bay Area, as well as a new understanding of their own mission and personal planning in the new era.

The second lecture was given by Prof. XIA Zhenglin, Deputy Dean and Doctoral Supervisor of School of Law of SCUT. Introducing the question “What do you know about the Civil Law?”, Prof. XIA Zhenglin conducted a popularization of the civil law from the aspects of its concept, development process and main contents.  

The third lecture was held on Thursday Morning (August 27). Prof. WANG Jun, Vice Dean and Doctoral Supervisor of School of Economics and Trade of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, was invited to give a lecture regarding to global economic pattern and sino-Us trade, elaborating the form, the change of the global economic pattern and the development process of China's foreign trade.

The last lecture was made by Dr. ZHANG Xuefan, Associate Professor of School of Government of Sun Yat-sen University. Focusing on system construction-oriented scientific research, Dr. ZHANG Xuefan analyzed common problems and difficulties that students would encountered in conducting academic research, showed the methods of basic skills training, and finally introduced some methods and skills that could be used in scientific research .At the end of the lecture, Dr. ZHANG Xuefan answered the questions raised by the students and the academic activity week ended in a warm applause.
