Welcome to the School of Software Engineering，South China University of Technology! Established in 2001，the School of Software Engineering is one of the 35 national pionieer software engeneering school，approved by the State Development Planning Commission and the Ministry of Education，China. Currently，it has the software engineering discipline which has the right to award the doctoral degree and to hire postdoctoral researchers in software engineering.

The School takes the personnel training as the fundamental mission, and the discipline construction as the leading task，and strives to train and create high-quality，engineering，inter-disciplinary，international talents in software engineering. The school aims at the national and local needs of the software industry，and serves the Pearl River Delta Region， Hong Kong and Macao. In particular，the school focuses on the training in basic software theories，software engineering knowledge and distinguished directions，and practical projects，such that the graduates can quickly integrate into the industry needs. Driven by the undertaking of the national and local key projects，the school relies on the high quality research bases，and emphasizes the capacity in academic research throughout the entire process of personnel training，with the aim of culturing high-quality and elite talents. Now the school has achieved remarkable results in personal training. The students from the innovation class in the school had published a cover story in Nature. There exists an increasingly number of innovative and entrepreneurial teams from the students. The students frequently received awards at major international and domestic competitions. The employment rate of the graduates is above 98%. Nearly 50% of graduates are employed in the top-500 enterprises over the world and the top-500 Chinese enterprises. We have cultured and transported a large number of elite software talents who make great contributions to the national and regional economic development.

The school have a faculty with strong scientific research background，which is dedicated to solving the theoretical and technical problems in the research and application of software engineering, and focuses on the breakthrough of the key problems in the areas including new methodologies and supporting environments for software development, software service engineering，and intelligent software and big data analytics，aiming to make our school to become the national first-class，and world renowned base of science and technology innovation and talent cultivation in software engineering.
