School of Software Engineering successfully held the 17th IEEE International Conference on e-Business Engineering

The "IEEE International Conference on e-Business Engineering" hosted by the School of Software of South China University of Technology and the Key Laboratory of Big Data and Intelligent Robots of the Ministry of Education successfully held online from November 12 to 14, 2021. In this international academic conference, Prof. QingyaoWu from the School of Software, South China University of Technology served as the general chair of the conference, and Prof. Yi Cai served as the program chair. Representatives from universities and institutes from Europe and the United States and other countries attended the meeting. The conference organized 2 keynote speeches and 27 oral paperpresentations.

In the conference opening ceremony, Prof. Zhenyu Wang, who is the dean of the School of Software of South China University of Technology, delivered a welcome speech and an opening speech. He emphasized the important position of software engineering in the digital age, and hoped that the teachers and students participating in the conference could exchange academic ideas extensively and wish the meeting a great success.

After the opening ceremony, Prof. Michale K.Ng from the University of Hong Kong gave a keynote speech entitled "User-Item Matching and Auto-encoders for Cold-start Next-item Recommendation".After that, Prof. Ho-fung Leung from the Chinese University of Hong Kong gave anotherkeynote speech on "Interactions of agents in virtual societies: how they learn, what we learn, and what is next”. The conference includes 8 sessions with different subjects, such as artificial intelligence and data mining. The oral presentations at different sessions aroused enthusiastic responses and discussions from the participants. The academic discussion atmosphere was enthusiastic. Participants spoke enthusiastically and communicated actively. The delegates and students generally felt that they had benefited a lot.


In addition, some scientific researchers made conference paper reports, which involved cutting-edge research fields such as artificial intelligence and data mining, which aroused enthusiastic discussions and positive responses from the participants. At the report meeting, the atmosphere of academic discussion was enthusiastic. Delegates spoke enthusiastically and communicated actively. The delegates and students generally felt that they had benefited a lot.

The IEEE International Conference on Electronic Commerce Engineering (ICEBE) is a prestigious conference and a flagship event co-sponsored by the IEEE Technical Committee on Business Information and Systems (TCBIS, formerly known as Electronic Commerce TC) and the National Electronic Commerce Technology Engineering Laboratory (NELECT). Since 2003, ICEBE has been held for 17 times and become a high-quality international forum for researchers, engineers and business experts to exchange cutting-edge ideas, discoveries and experiences in e-commerce.The conference was sponsored by the School of Software of South China University of Technology, IEEE Computer Society, IEEE Computer Society Technical Committee on Business Informatics and Systems, National Engineering Laboratory for E-Commerce Technologies (NELECT).
