报告摘要:

Sepiolite-nanocellulose composite materials can be formed by mechanical high-shear homogenization and ultrasound treatments of water dispersions of the fibrous clay sepiolite of rheological grade and cellulose nanofibers (CNF) prepared by microfluidization and TEMPO treatment. In this way, the cellulose nanofibrils are assembled to the silicate nanofibers giving rise to homogeneous and stable biohybrid gels without appreciable syneresis effects. These gels can be processed by solvent casting as self-standing films showing an increase of the Young modulus from ca. 1 GPa for starting CNF to ca. 3 GPa for 20% content in sepiolite. These bionanocomposites can be also prepared by direct treatment of water dispersions of microcrystalline cellulose in the presence of sepiolite.  The resulting materials can be functionalized by further incorporation of nanoparticles of diverse nature such as MWCNT, magnetite or ZnO photoactive compounds.
