Introduction of Jia Hepeng

Jia Hepeng, candidate doctor of science communication in Cornell University , the former Science News magazine editor of Chinese Academy of Sciences, editorial director and former Massachusetts Institute of Technology researcher of Knight science press.

He is an expert of science communication publishing many books and papers on science and technology theory , including the recent Global Issues of Professional Journalism Practice -- Climate Change (with Zhang Zhian, Nanfang Daily Press, 2011) Dispute in Science (Science Press, 2011), The Era of Globalization Effective Science Communication (Science Press 2007) etc..

The world's most famous Chinese science reporter. He is on behalf of Asia as the director of the world's scientific League (WFSJ) for two times.  (2009 - 2009; 2011 - 2007). One of the pioneers of science news among China journalist. Over the past years he has trained thousands of reporters through the reporter training exchange activities of science, environment and climate change, which has extensive influence and prestige in science and technology, environment and health press. He has published more than 1 thousand English news reports throughout his professional journalists career.

Excellent investigative journalists and media operators. Revision of the Science News in the  has a great public opinion influence on scientific community. He is the organizers of the scientific communication practice and social activities, successfully planned and organized the Scientists and Reporters Roles (Ministry of Health, Chinese Association Leadership, Wellcome Foundation), The First Chinese Low Carbon Business Competition (Ministry of Science and Technology, the National Energy Bureau and the Chinese Academy of Sciences Institute co sponsored), Looking for Young Scientists Sstar series of activities, having a great impact on worldwide science and technology enterprises.

  1996.9 - 1999.8 Graduate students of Chinese and Western Culture in the Institute of Ideological and Cultural of Tsinghua University, acquisition of master's degree in history in 1999.

  1990.9 - 1994.7 Student of Beijing International News Department of University of International Relations. Major: Journalism English public relations , received a bachelor's degree in literature in 1994.

  Major awards and honors in recent years:

  He was awarded the title of Science News laureate by Purdue University in November 2011 and was the first prize winner in Asia: Url: http://www.purdue.edu/sjl/laureates/.

  He was awarded Knight Science News Award by Massachusetts Institute of Technology In September 2011. With the sponsor of the fellowship he can engage in research in MIT.

  2007.4──2011.7 In April 2007 at the fifth World Congress of Science Press Conference (Melbourne, Australia), he was elected executive director of the World Federation of Scientific Press on behalf of Asia. In July 2009 at the sixth World Science Press Conference (London) he was elected again.
