UWA delegation visits SBA

A delegation of University of Western Australia (UWA) led by Dawn Freshwater, UWA’s President, and Iain Watt, UWA’s Vice President, paid a visit to the SBA campus on November 10. Accompanied by Wu Yechun, SCUT’s Vice President, Zhang Weiguo, SBA’s Dean, and Hu Yiwu, Secretary of the CPC SBA Committee, the guests visited the school’s facilities and had a meeting with SCUT and SBA leadership at the Building 12.  

At the beginning of the meeting, Wu Yechun extended welcome to the delegation. He then gave an introduction of SCUT and the ongoing SCUT international campus project, on which he hoped the two universities will have the opportunity to cooperate. Zhang Weiguo and Hu Yiwu both expressed their expectation that the business school of the two universities will further explore collaboration on student program and scientific research, seeing that the two universities have established a good foundation to work together. Dawn Freshwater said UWA is looking forward to carry out diverse international cooperation at different level with SCUT. Both parties agreed that the partnership of the two universities will continue through cooperation in more areas and modes.  

Established in 1911, the University of Western Australia is a research-intensive university and a member of the Group of Eight in Australia. Its main campus is in Perth, capital of Western Australia, which is the largest state in the country. In 2017, UWA was ranked 95th in the Best Global Universities Rankings by the U.S. World News and Report , and 91st in the Academic Ranking of World Universities by Shanghai Ranking Consultancy. The UWA Business School is accredited by AACSB and EQUIS.
