“2017 Summer Camp of Excellent Undergraduate” was held successfully in the School of Light Industry and Engineering on July 14^th till 16^th. The camp has attracted 40 undergraduate participants from different universities in the whole country.

From very early morning of July 14^th, volunteers of the summer camp have started to well-prepare to welcome excellent undergraduate campers from different universities all over the country. The entire registration procedure was running smoothly thanks to the hard but selfless work all volunteers contributed, which won a good recognition from all participants.

In the afternoon of July 14^th, opening ceremony of the summer camp was held in meeting room N.306 of the State Key Laboratory of Pulp and Paper Engineering, where all lead faculty members were present. The director of the state key laboratory, Professor Fachuang Lu, gave a presentation and explained in details about the questions that all undergraduate campers really concerned about such as enrolment policy and educating plan for Master students. In addition, Professor Lu also introduced more to campers about the history of the school, development of the major of light industry and engineering, employment orientations and so on.

In the morning of July 15^th, the vice dean of the School, Shubin Wu, introduced the education system of Master students, including different scholarship supports from the university to encourage students’ study, research as well as their innovation spirits. The introduction helped the campers not only to know better about the school, but also to recognize clearer for their academic future choices.

In order to help campers to know more about the school and make clear about future academic study of their own, the camp also organized some useful activities including lectures of well-known professors, face-to-face communications, discussion, inquire, etc., between young teachers of the school and the campers.

After the campers know well about the cutting-edge research in the field of the light industry and engineering, about the school of light industry and engineering, about study and life of Master students during the activities in previous days, the campers also presented their talents and knowledge in the comprehensive interview part.

In the morning of July 16^th, the vice dean, Professor Shubin Wu, hosted the closing ceremony of the summer camp. The director of the State Key Laboratory of Pulp and Paper Engineering, Professor Fachuang Lu, gave a speech and awarded certificates to 38 excellent campers. Until now, summer camp of the School of Light Industry and Engineering 2017 was successfully finished. The contents of the three-days summer camp was substantial which helped all undergraduates from different universities know quite well about the basic information of our school, specialties of our major as well as the education of Master studies. This played a quite active publicizing effect to enhance the quality of Master student applicants of our school.
