In order to create a platform for students to perform themselves and enhance their comprehensive quality,the first scientific research speech contest of the School of Light Industry and Engineering was held in Room. 34, Building 104 in the evening of March 29, 2017. the Director of State Key Laboratory of Pulp and Paper Engineering,Prof. Fachuang Lu, Deputy Dean Prof. Chuanfu Liu, General Secretary Ms. Bing Xu , Deputy General Secretary Xunen Tan , Prof. Youming Li , Prof. Junfei Tian and Associate Prof. Chunhui Zhang were present and served as judges.
This contest centered on the 'scientific research' as the main theme. All the contestants presented their scientific research and innovative ideas in detail with full of passion to the judges and the audience. They were neatly dressed and full of vigor. All the contestants well prepared and calmly performed perfectly showing their personal talent and the modern students' unique cultural literacy, youthful vitality and spiritual style.
This contest attracted a large number of students in our college. The presenters include both undergraduates and postgraduate students expressing different styles of speech. Some of them were humorous, some mature and stable, and others were passionate. Everyone showed superb oral expression and charming personality. All candid atesattracted the judges and audience deeply, and obtained the fair comments from the judges and continuous applause from everybody present. The audience also actively participated in this contest via voting for the favorite player through the official We Chat platform of the School of Light Industry Science and Engineering. After the contest, Prof. Lu shared his study and working experience in both China and US to the students, and encouraged them to overcome the current problems they were facing. 
Through this presentation contest, the players developed their presentation ability and improved the language communication skills. All the candidates said they were benefited from this contest, which would positively impact their future study and life. (Wen Wei Zhi Min / Figure Yu Kai Rong)
