Hematopoietic development, disease modeling and drug screening
Achievements:
Prof. ZHANG has completed a large-scale (~3000 genomes) ENU-based forward genetic screening in search of hematopoietic defect zebrafish mutants and participated in China alliance of zebrafish chromosome 1 genome knockout using CRISPR/Cas9 technology to knockout 50 genes of 1418 genes on chromosome 1 and 10 leukemia-driven genes. He host 8 projects supported by the General Program of National Natural Science Foundation of China, 1 project supported by the National High-tech R&D Program of China (863 Program), 1 project supported by the National Program on Key Basic Research Project of China (973 Program), 1 team project from Guangdong Provincial Natural Science Foundation. His work has been published in 30 SCI papers (the first or corresponding author published 16 articles, co-published 14 articles) including BLOOD, LEUKEMIA, DEVELOPMENT, JBC and granted 4 patents for disease modeling of zebrafish.
