On 29th July, the 1st meeting of PVA Green Packaging Working Committee was held by China Biodegradable Technology Industry Alliance in Westlake Hotel of SCUT. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the development and technology upgrades of green packaging of PVA and prepare for the industrial planning and landing of industrial clusters for ban on plastics in Hainan Province and even in the whole country. The meeting was attended by participants from 22 universities and enterprises, including Professor Li Ren, Vice Dean of SMSE, and Professor Yuefei Cui from Department of Polymer Materials Science and Engineering, SMSE.

At the meeting, experts and scholars had in-depth and extensive discussions and communication on the industrial planning and layout of PVA and its technical route, which was condusive to promoting the development of PVA industry

It is reported that approved by China Industry-University-Research Institute Collaboration Association (CIUR), an association established joinly by 17 ministries and commissions of the State Council, China Biodegradable Technology Industry Alliance, so far, is the one and only organization in cooperation with Hainan Eco-Environment Department to promote ban on plastics. As an important strategic decision of our country, ban on plastics in Hainan Province is believed to be a success that can be replicated and popularized in other provinces in the future and a great opportunity for the development of PVA industry.
