On the afternoon of November 25th, 2021, School of Civil Engineering and Transportation of South China University of Technology (SCUT), Guangzhou Construction Supervision Co., Ltd. and Guangzhou Municipal Engineering Testing Co., Ltd. hold university-enterprise industry-university-research cooperation and exchange activities. Secretary Zheng Cunhui, Vice Dean Chen Jun, and Associate Professor Huang Wenwei of School of Civil Engineering and Transportation, Vice Dean Wang Xiaohong, Professor Pei Hailong, Professor Tian Lianfang, Professor Kang Wenxiong, and Associate Professor Du Qiliang of School of Automation Science and Engineering, Chairman Li Qiming, Deputy General Manager Lin Weihong, and Chief Engineer Li Binghui of Guangzhou Construction Supervision Co., Ltd., General Manager Sun Xiaoli of Guangzhou Municipal Engineering Testing Co., Ltd., and 17 representatives of doctors and managers from the two companies attended the exchange activities.

First of all, Mr. Li Qiming, Chairman of Guangzhou Construction Supervision Co., Ltd., expressed a warm welcome to the arrival of the leaders and teachers from the two schools of SCUT. He introduced the development history, qualifications, achievements in recent years and the future development direction of the company in detail, and expressed the high value that the company places on outstanding talents. Mr. Li emphasized that he hoped tocomplement each other's advantages and share resources through the cooperation with School of Civil Engineering and Transportation and School of Automation Science and Engineering of SCUT, so as to realize the transformation and upgrading of construction supervision and completion inspection technology together.

During the exchange activity, Professor Pei Hailong from School of Automation Science and Engineering introduced the application and development of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), illustrated the methods of infrared, urban heat island, fire detection and ground detection, and introduced the relevant research progress, technologies and applications in UAV design, coastal mapping, 5G+UAV application and ground-air cooperation in detail. Prof. Pei also introduced that a full-process self-learning knowledge map with human-in-the-loop can be establish through multi-level human-machine collaboration technology, which can be applied to scenarios such as emergency management, self-evacuation and rescue route planning.

Associate Professor Huang Wenwei from School of Civil Engineering and Transportation introduced the progress of the work progress in the direction of construction management informatization, relying on a series of achievements of the Building Life Cycle Management Virtual Simulation (BIM) Center, including the development and application of computer vision, BIM, data science, knowledge map, machine learning, digital architecture, smart city, GIS, and assembly building in recent years.

Mr. Sun Xiaoli, General Manager of Guangzhou Municipal Engineering Testing Co., Ltd., expressed the need for intelligent inspection in the field of testing, hoping to improve the quality and safety of the project through automation and information technology, also to enhance efficiency and improve the application of intelligent equipment.

Strengthening university-enterprise cooperation and promoting win-win cooperation between university and enterprise are the basis for realizing the transformation and upgrading of the construction industry. At present, many scientific research achievements of universities still stay in the laboratory. It is hoped that in the future, both university and enterprise can cooperate deeply in various aspects such as practice bases, transformation of scientific research achievements, and technological breakthroughs to promote the transformation of scientific and technological achievements.
