A Sub-forum of "Outstanding Young Scholar Forum at Home and Abroad" of SCUT Successfully Held at the School of Civil Engineering and Transportation
time: 2018-03-14

On February 26, 2018, Dr. Li Zaining visited the School of Civil Engineering and Transportation of SCUT and gave an academic report at 2:30 pm on the 26th in 516 Room at Jiaotong Building. Associate Dean Wen Huiying, some teachers such as Zeng Qiang, Wu Weitiao, some postgraduate students and undergraduates of the Department of Transportation Engineering attended this Sub-forum.

The academic report was hosted by Associate Dean Wen Huiying. Dr. Li made an academic report titled 'Transportation Safety Management', and Teacher Zeng Qiang conducted a full translation of the report. Dr. Li's academic report was divided into three topics: 1. Transportation Safety Planning. The main content is the integration of traffic safety assessment into the traffic planning process, taking pedestrians and bicycles as examples to introduce the integration analysis of model division and accident prediction modeling; 2. Evaluation of Transportation Policies. The main content is the application of mathematical methods to assess the effectiveness of certain traffic safety policies and regulations (such as mandatory helmets and seat belts); 3. Emergency Medical Service. This topic discussed the relevant influencing factors of the rescue time after the accident, as well as the impact of rescue time on the mortality rate of the accident, and provided suggestions for the improvement of emergency rescue services after the accident.

Later, Dr. Li interacted with the teachers and students on topics such as the research topics and the application of US graduate. The atmosphere of the report was very lively.

It is reported that “Outstanding Young Scholars Forum at Home and Abroad” of SCUT was first launched in November 2015. It aims to invite young talents with different academic backgrounds around the world to focus on international scientific frontiers, hot research fields, and technical issues of industry industries to discuss and communicate. Through this platform, we inspire and broaden our horizons, enhance international exchanges and cooperation, and promote mutual development.
