Title:An Approach for Evaluating Residual Capacity of Fire Damaged Concrete Structures

Speaker: Professor Venkatesh Kodur (Michigan State University)

Time: Monday, April 10, 2017, 02:30-04:00 p.m.

Venue: 604, Jiaotong Building, Wushan Campus

Introduction of the speaker: Professor Venkatesh Kodur is the Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering, the foreign fellow of the India National Academy of Engineering, the member of ASCE, ACI, and SFPE. Professor Venkatesh Kodur occupies the subeditor of the Journal of Structural Engineering and the Journal of Structural Fire Engineering, the chairman of the Fire Proof Standard Committee of ASCE and the Fire Protection Committee of ACI-TMS. The research directions of Professor Kodur include the properties of structures in fire hazards, the constitutive relation of materials with high temperature, the properties of high-performance materials in fire, the fire protection safety design based on performance, and the collapse mechanics of the structure. He has published more than 300 papers, and many of his research achievements have been absorbed in codes and standards (such as NBC, ACI, ASCE, and SFPE).
