    Prof. Luo Yi, SCET Party Secretary, and Prof. Yao Xiaohu, Dean of Department of Mechanics, visited the R&D Institute of China Aviation Industry General Aircraft Co.,Ltd.(CAIGA) for the unveiling ceremony of SCUT-CAIGA Teaching Practice Base. Xiong Xianpeng, Liao Shengzhi and CAIGA's other relevant leaders and staffs attended the ceremony. Based on SCUT-CAIGA long-term good relationship and excellent performance of SCUT postgraduates who worked for the R&D Institute, SCUT-CAIGA cooperation has been affirmed by both sides. The ceremony marked a deeper cooperation between SCUT and CAIGA in personnel training, interdisciplinary, tackling hard-nut problems in science, and the commercialization of research findings.
  Sophomores of Innovation Class of Mechanics had their practice there at the same day. Led by CAIGA staffs, students visited the company and experienced the application of advanced composites material in general aircrafts after watching many kinds of seaplane and other general aircrafts. Leaders of the Institute introduced to students the basic information of their agency, especially its capacity of research and the general aircrafts developed by the Institute. Experts of the Institute made a splendid report of the process of how to research and develop aircrafts. From the internship, students had a deeper understanding that R&D of aircrafts was a complicated and systematic engineering.
